Within this course, we study and practice the concepts of academic writing, including an introduction to rhetorical principles, the writing process, critical reading, research and technology.
However, we approach these composition milestones through the lens of music. We do this through analyzing the history of rap music from the 1970s to present day. This is done through analysis of actual songs, videos, documentaries and texts.
We do this to allow you to better understand how writing, critical thinking and “typical English topics” can be analyzed outside of the traditional English classroom realm
